A collection of gold and mortgage bonds issued between 1871 and 1896. Includes mortgage bonds from the New Haven, Middletown & Willimantic Rail Road Company (one $500 and 17 $100 bonds), a $1000 gold bond from Union Debenture Company, and six from the Nebraska and Northwestern Irrigation Company (two $500 and four $1000). Vincent Coffin and William R. Galpin are named as trustees on the railroad bonds.

Delta Upsilon was the first organized anti-secret fraternity in the U.S. In 1834 students at Williams College formed the Social Fraternity which became Delta Upsilon in 1864. The national headquarters are now in Indianapolis, Indiana. Collection consists of constitutions and minutes of various branch fraternities; initiation records, 1888-1892; executive council correspondence, 1884-1925; treasurer's reports, 1919-1930; secretary's reports, 1919-1927; chapter publications; petitioning societies records; convention materials; and associated records. Also, papers of W. Freeman Galpin concerning Delta Upsilon.

Correspondence, reports, notes, and other materials relating to Galpin's work on the history of Syracuse University, duties as professor and chairman of the History Department, workshop and courses on the British Commonwealth, participation on the Advisory Committee on the Teaching of History, and other professional and personal activities. Also records removed from offices of the University including the files of Chancellor Charles Wesley Flint, Vice-Chancellor William Pratt Graham, Dean of Men's Affairs A. Blair Knapp, and Dean of the College of Business Administration Charles L. Raper. These records were used by Galpin in the third volume of his history of Syracuse University.
