Bound manuscript "Journal of the Weather" (ca. 145 p.) kept by Rev. Wm. Howard documenting weather encountered by the traveling preacher from October 1860 through April 1862 in daily entries. 34 pages titled "Miscellaneous Memorandum" are laid in the journal. In these entries, which date between February 1858 and January 1862, Howard recorded his daily activities, identifying homes he stayed in and summarizing his thoughts on a variety of subjects, including the Civil War, church problems, and theological issues. There is also a manuscript ledger (209 p.) for Howard's Grist Mill, which contains accounts for customers purchasing flour, wheat, bran, and feed from the mill between 1866 and 1873.
