Topics of interest include Oriental art, fund raising for Randolph Macon College, Ashland (Va.), two terms on the U. Va. Board of Visitors, the Board of Foreign Scholarships (Fulbright Awards), the Commission on Critical Choices for Americans, lectures at English universities, the Asia Society, Youth for Understanding, the Smithsonian Institution Board of Regents, his 1964 Senatorial campaign,his Senate retirement, the Panama Canal treaties, and normalization of relations with the Peoples Republic of China, Also Japanese business contacts, a projected book on Pennsylvania, and his trips abroad to Australia, Canada, China, England, Japan, Malaysia, the Far East, Southeast Asia, and the U.S.S.R., three of which were made as a participant in the Williamsburg Conferences. Typescripts of his Oxford lectures on the American political system, his book The Life of the Party, and article, Jades, and a copy of Lets Stop Picking on the President are included, as is an engraving of Thomas Jefferson by Jacques Couche 1759-? There are also photographs of several political notables, miscellaneous invitations, programs and certificates and a piece of the Berlin Wall.
