Photographs recording the Crocker Land Expedition. Members of the expedition were Donald B. MacMillan, W. Elmer Ekblaw, Maurice C. Tanquary, Jerome Lee Allen, Jonathan Cook Small, Fitzhugh Green, and Harrison J. Hunt. For part of the expedition Edmund Otis Hovey was also a member. Photographs were taken by Hovey and MacMillan. Copy photographs by Julius Kirchner. Photographs are identified.

Title: Records, 1911-1921.

Records of the Crocker Land Expedition led by Donald B. MacMillan relate primarily to its funding through subscription, and to planning various aspects of the expedition; many of the records were prepared by expedition administrator, Edmund O. Hovey. Also, requisitions for supplies and other financial records. Collection includes correspondence written from Greenland and elsewhere between Hovey and Elmer Ekblaw, two members of the expedition party to Knud Rasmussen and Peter Freuchen, who assisted the expedition. Of special interest are duplicates of the journal written by Hovey, leader of the Relief Party, and a summary of the expedition describing their experiences, observations, and ways of coping with difficulties, 1913-1917.
