Summary: Photographs, taken by Gaius Upham, primarily of Tucson and southern Arizona, and Southern Pacific Railroad employees and their workplace. There are images of street scenes, hotels, ruins, and mining in southern Arizona including Fort Lowell, Tumacacori, Nogales, Cochise, Bisbee, Florence, and the Casa Grande ruins. Image of the Santa Rita Mountains include a woman shooting a pistol. There are mining images of Twin Buttes, San Xavier Mine, Old Glory Gold Mine and mill, Sierra Colorado Silver Mine, and an arrastra near Oro Blanco. There is one photograph of the ceremony laying the cornerstone of Tucson High School, as well as images of the Carnegie Library, the military plaza and snow on Stone Avenue. There are views of Sabino Canyon picnics, the Santa Cruz River flooding, Mount Lemmon, a mule-powered trolley, a Chinese dragon in a parade, and Fowler's airplane at the University of Arizona. Other images include a rifle range, the Vinsons' ranch house in the Hidden Valley near Sabino Canyon Road. There are interior and exterior images of the Upham homes including a Jaastad-designed home at 828 E. 4th Avenue.
