Unions memtioned include the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, the American Newspaper Guild, the Communications Workers of America, the Textile Workers Union of America, the United Steelworkers of America, the United Stone and Allied Products Workers of America, and the United Transport Service Employees. Among the organizations and governmental agencies mentioned are the Labor Press Association, Inc., the Office of Price Stabilization, the President's Health Needs of Nation Commission, the Southern Regional Council, Inc., the U.S. Department of Labor, and the United Merchants and Manufacturers, Inc. The papers concern issues affecting labor including living costs, wages, prices, labor laws, taxes, anti-union pressures, strikes, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the movement in the South to organize workers in various industries.
