This collection chiefly consists of estate records of members of the related Adger and Williams families. Papers of Robert Adger (1814-1891) include a letter (1864) from Confederate engineer August S. Barrows transmitting a wartime map of the Richmond (Va.) area; a letter (1879) from George S. Brown in London (England) concerning the dissolution of Robert Adger & Company; papers (1880-1885) relating to Rivoli Farm (Pendleton, S.C.); business and legal papers relating to investments and the settlement of the affairs of James Adger & Company; Robert Adger's will and estate records (1888-1903); and papers (1855-1873) pertaining to the estate of his wife's relative, Thomas F. Fleming. Papers relating to Robert Adger's children include letters (1891) of Jane E. Adger and Clara Flinn Bowen, and an agreement (1873) concerning insurance policies. One group of papers (1868-1874) pertains to the "lunatic estate" of James Adger (1812-1881), and includes receipts, a doctor's letter diagnosing insanity, and papers concerning his confinement in an asylum. There are also estate recors of Rev. John B. Adger (1810-1899); Susan D. Adger (1808-1884); John B. Adger (1858-1940); Joseph Ellison Adger (1824-1898); William Adger (1816-1853); Jane (Jennie) W. Adger (1863-1942), widow of John B. Adger (1858-1940). Papers of the Williams famliy include estate records (1877) of Edward Church Williams; Margaret Adger Williams (1863-1941); George Walton Williams, Jr. (1860-1923); and George Walton Williams, Sr. (1820-1903). Estate records of George W. Williams, Sr. include specifications and a blueprint plan of his monument in Magnolia Cemetery.

Papers consist of correspondence, certificates, a petition, and a clipping. Correspondence includes a letter from Philip Cook, Georgia Secretary of State, to George W. Williams in Charleston (S.C.) explaining a Georgia law concerning stockholders' liabilities; and a typewritten letter (1893) to Williams from Paul R. Sledge, agent for the Great Southern Freight and Passenger Line, concerning the Augusta and Chattanooga Railroad Company, a troubled enterprise (chartered circa 1887) which failed to construct a railway as planned. Papers include a copy of the certificate of incorporation (1899) granted to the Chattanooga, Augusta and Charleston Air Line Railway by the State of Georgia; a certificate of authenticity (1900) for the certificate of incorporation signed by Philip Cook; a printed petition (1881) for incorporation of the Augusta and Chattanooga Railroad Company, formed to construct a railroad from Augusta (Ga.) to Chattanooga (Tenn.); and a clipping (1899) advertising a meeting of stockholders of the Charleston City Railway Company of South Carolina.
