Christiancy, Henry Clay, 1841-1925. Diary of Henry Clay Christiancy [manuscript], 1862-1864.

Title: Diary of Henry Clay Christiancy [manuscript], 1862-1864.

Lt. Christiancy's diary was transcribed in 1975 by his grandson Christiancy Pickett who annotated it and wrote an introduction. His entries mention the Peninsular campaign and the battles of 2nd Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, The Wilderness and Cold Harbor. Orders for the Petersburg crater are copied. The diary also contains 3 letters, 1863, from George Armstrong Custer that contain an excellent appraisal of Union mistakes at Chancellorsville. With the diary are photographs of Christiancy and his wife Charlotte Elizabeth Bingham Christiancy and his father Judge I.C. Christiancy.
