Series IV, Organizations, includes programs, minutes, agendas, published and unpublished reports, flyers, brochures, and correspondence resulting from Mudd's involvement in and service on the boards of a number of professional and other organizations. It contains the bulk of the collection and consists primarily of papers resulting from activities Mudd pursued after retiring from the Marriage Council. This series documents Mudd's career as a marriage counselor, birth control advocate, and educator, as well as the interests and activities of birth control, professional and other organizations (1960s-80s) and of the Marriage Council of Philadelphia (1920s-70s). Series V, Correspondence, consists of professional and very few personal letters Mudd wrote and received, and a few photographs. Most of the correspondence is with Mudd's colleagues, including some with Alfred C. Kinsey while Mudd was working as one of five consulting editors for the Institute of Sex Research's book, Sexual Behavior in the Human Female (1953). Series VI, Reference materials, consists mainly of printed pamphlets, newsletters, reports, clippings, and reprints. Mudd used some of this material as background for particular articles. Topics include divorce, marriage counseling, and sex.
