Title: Campo de Cahuenga Scrapbook, 1902-1971.

This group of material includes copies of documents from a scrapbook created by the Historical Landmark Committee of Campo de Cahuenga. The material was used to advocate for the Campo de Cahuenga (near Universal Studios Hollywood, California) to become an historical landmark and for a monument to be built on the site (to be named the Fremont-Pico Memorial Park). Many of the documents are written by Mrs. A. S. C. Forbes, President of the California History and Landmarks Club. It includes petitions, documents seeking public support, copies of hand-drawn maps of the area, and statements made by various people establishing the correct facts about the site and the events that took place there. Authors of the statements include: Horatio N. Rust, Elizabeth Benton "Lily" Frémont, J. B. Lankershim, Benjamin Balmer, C. C. Grove, Eugene Plummer, Charles Prudhomme, Ysidro Reyes, Manuel Cota, Geronimo Lopez, and other early California pioneers. Also included are printed handouts from the 1970s about the Campo de Cahuenga historical landmark.
