This folder contains 57 portrait photographs from about the 1880s and 1890s. Few are identified. They were removed from a long narrow worn reddish-orange plush photo album, Boulder Historical Society accession number 1-3R. Most of these card photos are by portrait studios in Iowa.

The collection contains 450 black-and-white photographs, 350 glass plate neagtives and one poster. Most were taken by William Mitchell, Jr. There are commercial photographs of the Mitchell Printing Co. and Bindery, its employees at work and machinery. Also are photographs of the Mitchell family and friends and the Mitchell home. There are images of public buildings, portraits, residences, street scenes, and views of the countryside in Hancock County, Indiana.
