The collection consists of thirteen items, including letters from Hillary, and others from his sweetheart, Anne Mackenzie, and clippings about Hillary and England in his time. Includes: long, sentimental letter from Hillary to Darling Anne, postmarked 16 July 1939; undated poem, titled Lament, written for Anne Mackenzie; Christmas greeting card, undated, unaddressed, signed by Hillary; undated letter from Anne to Hillary at Oxford, agreeing to come visit him; letter from Anne to Lovat Dickson, 1943, about publishing Hillary's letters. Also, letter from Anne to Mr. Loxley, 24 Nov. 1944, about a post in France or Belgium, with a fragment of a longer letter concerning an article on Hillary starting on the verso; letter from Lovat Dickson to Anne, 23 June 1943, asking her to review the manuscript of Hillary's letters; program for Hillary's funeral service, 25 Jan. 1943; two undated clippings about Hillary, his death and legacy; photocopy of review of book about Hillary's affair with Mary Booker. Also, two unrelated clippings, one from 2 March 1936 about the death of Caroline Lady Borwick; the other undated, with picture and caption describing the christening of Nicholas Hastings Elwin Millard.
