Publications, manuals, policies, and plans issued by a large sample of Fortune 500 corporations and by a variety of organizations, such as professional and trade associations, government agencies, and educational and cultural organizations. The materials issued by corporations include company histories, employee newsletters, employee benefit plans, personnel practice manuals, performance appraisal forms, affirmative action policies, training brochures, job descriptions, and career development programs as well as national trade association documents and recruitment material. Several economic activities(sectors) are represented in the collection, such as manufacturing, transportation, mining, banking, insurance, utilities, trade, and services. Corporations whose pamphlets are held in the collection include AT&T, Bethlehem Steel, Bell Telephone System, Firestone Tire & Rubber, Ford Motor Co., General Electric, General Foods, General Mills, General Motors, Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Heinz, International Harvester, Johnson & Johnson, Lockheed Aircraft Co., Maytag Co., Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., National Association of Manufacturers, Pennsylvania Railroad Co., Radio Corporation of America (RCA), Standard Oil, Tennessee Valley Authority, Union Carbide, and Westinghouse Electric among numerous other corporations.

Parker, John M. John M. Parker papers, 1943-1997.

Title: John M. Parker papers, 1943-1997.

Collection contains largely legal materials relating to Parker's involvement as a witness in the 1982-1985 lawsuit between the Kansas-Nebraska Natural Gas Company against Marathon Oil Company and Double M. Oil Company over the Huntsman Field located near Sidney, Nebraska. Parker served as a consultant for Kansas-Nebraska Natural Gas and authored several reports, maps, and geological studies in support of their case. These legal materials also include correspondence between Parker and Kansas-Nebraska Gas' attorneys, depositions and exhibits, oil well log files, subject files, and cross-sectional maps. The collection also contains biographical material on Parker and materials relating to his 1943 exploration in the Northwest Territories, Canada.

Donnell family. Papers, 1888-1984, (bulk 1912-1984).

Title: Papers, 1888-1984, (bulk 1912-1984).

The majority of the collection consists of Otto D. Donnell's Ohio Oil Company and personal scrapbooks (1925-1952), which contain newspaper clippings, correspondence, photographs, and programs. Included are company golf party scrapbooks relating to the company's extensive public relations efforts. There are also family scrapbooks (1916-1984), biographical material, correspondence, speeches, awards, certificates, pins, and buttons of all three Donnells relating mainly to their careers. There are only a few records of the Ohio Oil Company, including miscellaneous financial (1894-1926) and legal (1888-1916) records. Also included are photographs of the Donnells, the Ohio Oil and the Marathon Oil Companies, filling stations, and John D. Rockefeller. In addition there are files relating to the Hancock County Museum in Findlay, Ohio.

Kelly, Dorothy King. Dorothy Kelly Collection

Title: Dorothy Kelly Collection

Dorothy King Kelly was the daughter of Oscar John King who worked for Marathon Oil Company for twenty years starting in 1930. Oscar John King appeared in the photograph of the Orient Railroad along with other relatives. The collection contains two books and a photograph. The books are located in the WTC Closed Stacks, and the photograph is located in the miscellaneous photograph box.

These materials should be used with care by researchers. The County Binders, filed alphabetically by county name and then township name within each county, include drilling reports, with date, name of drilling company, location of area (section/s of township) drilled, types of layers drilled through, types of minerals, oil, and other materials found, the depth at which materials were found, and the thickness of the material, as well as other information. The Subject Files document a number of oil and gas companies and issues related to oil and gas exploration in Mich. Copies of MOGN News and other publications of MOGN are in the CMU libraries.
