Moore, Aberdeen, Ohio, re: a trip to Washington where he visited the Capitol and met Congressmen Wadsworth, Mallory and Cox, describing a disagreement between the former two and Congressman Green Smith. Other letters discuss his work in the commission firm of Mitchell Oliver and Company. He also mentions speculating in gold futures. The collection also contains a clothing allowance book, 1861-1863, for Company K., 46th Pennsylvania Infantry.
