Papers (some copies) of Jasper Mauduit, colonial agent in London for the Province of Massachusetts Bay from 1762-1765, and of his predecessor William Bollan. The papers concern Bollan's term as agent until his removal from office in 1762 following his failure to obtain reimbursement for the Province for military expenditures during the French and Indian War. Mauduit was appointed following his success at obtaining the payments due, and his papers contain instructions, including explanation of the political and civil rights of the colonists; and correspondence concerning Mauduit's term as agent and questions pending between Mass. and Great Britain's Parliament. (Cont.) Subjects include a parliamentary grant for money owed to the Province, the Sugar Act and proposed Stamp Act, the Society for Propagating the Gospel among the Indians and Others in North America, Thomas Hutchinson and Mass. politics, and the non-appointment of Israel Mauduit (Jasper's brother) as joint agent. Earlier papers include military accounts of wages of soldiers paid for 1759 and 1761. Subjects include the sugar trade, colonial boundaries, the Louisburg Expedition, and British military forces in America.

Primarily the records of the Society for Encouraging Trade and Commerce within the Province of Massachusetts Bay, a society of Boston merchants of which Price was a member. Also included are the Society's regulations and lists of members, subscriptions, plans and other papers related to the employment of poor women and children at a linen manufactory; accounts of lumber and fish exported to the West Indies and other goods imported from England; Price's receipt book of insurance transactions, 1764-1774; papers related to Boston town meetings and to deserters from a French squadron in Boston Harbor during the Revolution (1781). Correspondents include Edward Payne, William Bollan, and Thomas Gray.
