Includes Bassett's writings and research material on the Regulator movement, slavery, and other topics in North Carolina history; his editorship of the South Atlantic Quarterly; and his interest in race relations, politics, and educational reform in the South, and in national politics and the League of Nations. Bassett's collected historical manuscripts include letters (1802) between governors William Charles Cole Claiborne, Archibald Roane, and Benjamin Williams concerning the extradition of Stockley Donelson and William Tyrrell, implicated in the Yazoo land frauds; papers of Ralph Earl, artist and intimate of Andrew Jackson; family and personal papers of Alabama lawyer and planter Henry Watson; and literary papers. Family members represented include Bassett's wife, Jessie Lewellin Bassett, and their children, Margaret Byrd Bassett and Richard H. Bassett. Correspondents include Herbert Baxter Adams, Charles McLean Andrews, Kemp P. Battle, William Kenneth Boyd, George Washington Cable, J. This collection contains the incoming and outgoing correspondence of Frank E. Duddy, Jr., 7th president of Westminster College (Salt Lake City, Utah) who served from 1956-1963. The majority of correspondence consists of outgoing letters, thanking individual and corporate donors for their financial contributions or other gifts (e.g., furniture, paintings, piano, fossils, etc.) to Westminster College. While most donations were made to the Westminster College Development Program Fund, some donors contributed to scholarship funds, and others made memorial gifts honoring specific individuals (e.g., George A. Critchlow, Hazel S. Patterson, and Ralph A. Earl). The remaining outgoing correspondence represents other general administrative duties including acknowledging visits, replying to specific inquiries (e.g., the use of dormitories), advising professors on procedures, etc. The incoming correspondence consisted largely of general inquiries including individuals either requesting to be removed from the Westminster College mailing lists or making an address change. Other letter writers expressed their interest in Westminster College while enclosing a donation. Another explained a bequest was not made to the college in an individual's will.

Title: Papers, 1930-1967.

This collection primarily contains correspondence between Eunice Chambers and various scholars, museum directors, libraries, and art collectors between 1930-1967. Most letters pertain to the numerous early American portraits that Chambers collected and resold. She often approached private owners of particular paintings and wrote to them, asking if they would be willing to sell their items. Chambers also actively solicited purchasers for her paintings. Often, she would go to great lengths to thoroughly research the provenance of the works and the history of the subjects of these paintings. Through the help of various libraries and scholars, she was able to attribute several unidentified paintings.
