The Field Operations records series contains two subseries. The bulk of the Field Operations Manager records subseries, 1953-1960 (2.8 cubic ft.), Acc. 739, contains incoming and outgoing correspondence, memorandums, and intra-company communications between Marc J. Parsons, the Field Operations Manager, and various Ford Motor Company divisions and departments related to public relations. The records also contain correspondence between Parsons and three key public relations men: Jack W. Clarke, Head of Public Communications and Parsons' supervisor; Sydney W. Morrell, General Public Relations manager; and William J. Mitchel, Jr., who took over as Field Operations manager in 1959. The records also contain correspondence, budgets, guest lists, and other planning information regarding press previews of new vehicle models from 1953 to 1960. The Public Relations Managers records subseries, 1948-1953 (1.2 cubic ft.), Acc. 567, documents the public relations activities of Ford Division and Lincoln-Mercury Division. The Jack W. Clarke records contain outgoing and incoming correspondence from Ford Division Regional Public Relations Managers throughout the United States; 1950 correspondence regarding the Associated Press managing editors meeting; correspondence about a Hollywood movie promotion from 1950 to 1951; and Public Relations Weekly Bulletins for the Midwest region from 1952. The John B. Millis records contain community relations reports for Richmond, California and Buffalo, New York; correspondence from 1950 to 1952 between editors of various publications and between Frederic S. Schouman and Roy J. Forrest of the Ford Division Public Relations Department; and 1953 Auto Show photographs.
