Biographical History

Robert T. Oliver was born in 1909 in Oregon and attended the University of Wisconsin where he received his doctorate in Speech and American Literature. For many years, Dr. Oliver specialized in the study of Korea. He was a close friend and advisor to former Korean President Syngman Rhee. He was also an advisor to the Korean Commission in Washington, and to the Korean delegation to the United Nations at Lake Success and Paris. Oliver wrote several books about Rhee and Korea.
