Louis Agassiz, 1807-1873. Zoologist, geologist. Educated at University of Munich, Germany (M.D., 1827), University of Erlangen, Germany (Ph. D.,1829). Professor of Natural History, University of Neuchatel, Switzerland (1832-1846); Professor of Zoology and Geology, Lawrence Scientific School, Harvard (1848-1873); founder and director of Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard (1859-1873).
