Biographical History
In the early 20th century, a group of concerned cattlemen took it upon themselves to help structure the future of the cattle industry in the state of Arizona. Their primary focus was the drafting of orderly, systematic laws protecting livestock and property. On January 4, 1904, these individuals organized the Arizona Cattle Growers' Association, an organization which continues to advocate for livestock and property owners to this day.
Arizona Cattle Growers' Association was organized in 1904 in order to protect the cattle industry from cattle rustlers and brand tampering. Over the decades the scope of the Association expanded to include legislation, stock management, range and watershed management, over grazing, wildlife habitat, wilderness areas, taxation, land ownership and relationships with state and federal government.
The Arizona Cattle Growers' Association was founded in 1904 by a small group of cattlemen who wanted to advocate for laws that would protect livestock and property in the state of Arizona. Today, the organization represents 2,000 beef cattle producers and industry leaders. Some of their tasks today include lobbying for and drafting legislation that is advantageous to their industry. They also participate in public relation activities that promote positive portrayals of the ranching image and heritage. Lastly, the Arizona Cattle Growers Association builds alliances with other organizations and cultivate their membership base.
