Biographical History
The Commission of the Churches on International Affairs was initially established in August of 1946, under the joint sponsorship of the World Council of Churches and the International Missionary Council.
The Commission was founded in 1948 by the World Council of Churches and the International Missionary Council with the aim of serving as a source of information about international problems. As of 1949 there were offices in New York and London, and later (1952) also in Geneva.
