Norton's mother's great great grandfather, Donald McMillan, first came to Burlington in 1837 and the family market garden was in the family until the 1960's. A. Norton's father's great great grandfather settled in Tapleytown, Wentworth County also in 1837 and the family came to Burlington in 1910. The farm is still in the family.
