Nicholson, a native of Clinton County, Ohio, was an abolitionist active with the Underground Railroad. For a time he lived in a communal settlement, Prairie Home, near Urbana, Ohio. Nicholson was also interested in spiritualism and attended seances. He died in Indianapolis. A daughter, Mary, married Horace McKay.
Nicholson, a native of Clinton County, Ohio, was an abolitionist who was involved with the Underground Railroad and established a free town hall and academy in Harveysburg, Ohio. He also experimented in a communal settlement, Prairie Home, near Urbana, Ohio. Nicholson was interested in spiritualism, attended seances, and wrote of his experiences. He later lived in Wayne and Marion Counties in Indiana and died in Indianapolis. A daughter, Mary, married Horace McKay.
