Biographical History

Henry Peterson was born and lived most of his life in Philadelphia. He wrote for the Saturday gazette, then in 1848, with partner Edmund Deacon, became publisher and editor of The Saturday evening post. He wrote novels, poems, and plays, but was chiefly an important figure in the magazine world.
