Biographical History
Born March 29, 1847 in Nineveh, N.Y.; married Charles Edgar Fox in 1876. Her mastery of parliamentary procedure grew out of the need for better methods in women's organizations which were then growing into a force in the struggle for women's rights. She became an authority in the subject and her book, Parliamentary Usage for Women's Clubs, published in 1902 is still used by many organizations. In 1899 she founded the Detroit Parliamentary Law Club. She promoted the organization of the Women's Municipal Employee's League of Detroit, and was active in numerous organizations until her death at the age of 98. Two sons, Howard and Maurice survived her.
