Biographical History

Morley Evans Fox was born in Stamford, Connecticut on April 17, 1919. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Journalism (1947) and served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. Before moving to the District of Columbia in 1964, Fox worked as the Arizona State Director for the National Beer Wholesalers Association, ran his family's ranch near Flagstaff, and edited the Arizona Cattle Growers' Association's magazine. From 1964 until his retirement in 1993, he worked for the Central Arizona Project and edited two newsletters ( Watergram and Reclamation News ) reporting on the Project. Fox died of Alzheimer's disease in Washington, D.C. on March 1, 2011.

Foxboro Boys Prep Ranch was located 26 miles south of Flagstaff. In 1949 it became coeducational and was renamed Tocaloma-Foxboro Ranch. The ranch was later used as a movie set.

Rainbow Forest Lodge was a Fred Harvey establishment at Petrified Forest.

It is possible that Foxboro Ranches was the precursor to the development known today as Foxboro Ranch Estates.
