Melbourne-born pianist and composer who spent much of his working life in the United States.
Percy Aldridge Grainger, 1882-1961 was an Australian Composer/Pianist. Rose and John Grainger were the parents of Percy. Ella Grainger was married to Percy.
Percy Grainger was an Australian-born pianist and composer. Precocious and highly talented, he studied in Germany and England before becoming a citizen of the United States. An eccentric character with eclectic interests and some extreme beliefs, he composed or arranged more than 1200 pieces of music, many innovative and influential. Grainger had an interest in folk music of many cultures, and pioneered collection methods for folk music in Europe.
Percy Aldridge Grainger (1882-1961) was an Australian and American composer and pianist. He immigrated to the United States in 1914. He was famous for both his folk music arrangement and his highly experimental compositions, including works for electronic instruments.
Percy Grainger was an Australian-born pianist and innovative composer who lived a large part of his life in the United States.
