William Larkin Duren, Methodist clergyman, author, and editor, was born 27 October 1870, in Carroll County, Mississippi, and died 21 June 1965, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He served churches in Mississippi (1902-1919), Louisiana (1920-1925; 1931-1933), and Georgia (1926-1930); edited the NEW ORLEANS CHRISTIAN ADVOCATE (1934-1946); and published four books.
Professor of Mathematics; Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Virginia. President of the Mathematical Society of America.
