Lieutenant James McConnell served in the Confederate Army during the siege of Vicksburg. Elizabeth Logan McConnell was active in the New Orleans Era Club, which made great efforts to place a woman on the Louisiana State Board of Education. James McConnell, Sr. was active in the Episcopal Church in Louisiana.
