Congregational minister in Fremantle, W.A., 1853-1886.
Rev. Joseph Johnston was a missionary in Tahiti, 1842-1850, then a Congregational Minister in Fremantle, 1853-1886. Samuel Moore (1803-1849) arrived in Western Australia in 1834 and settled with his family at Oakover, Middle Swan. His son Samuel Joseph Fortescue married Eliza Mary Johnston, daughter of the Rev. Johnson.
Johnston was a missionary in Tahiti (1840-1849)under the auspices of the London Missionary Society and later a Congregational minister in Fremantle, Western Australia.
