Biographical History

Lawyer and Republican state representative from Rockford, Illinois serving from 1979-1990. Involved in legislation for the building of Highway 51, from Bloomington, Ill. to Rockford, "Workfare", Build Illinois projects for Rockford such as expansion of facilities at Rock Cut State Park, construction of a state office building, railway park & museum and preservation of historic sites. He was also interested in getting Class A baseball to Rockford. Attempted to get the Chicago Bears to move their off season practice grounds to Rockford and building a zoo in the city. Served on Judiciary, Appropriations, Rules and other committees. Minority Whip in 83rd and 84th G.A. and assistant minority leader in 85th G.A.
