Biographical History

Organized in 1924 as the Texas Band Teachers Association, and renamed in 1937 as the Texas Band and Orchestra Association. Became the Texas Music Educators Association in 1938. Sponsors contests and promotes music education in the public schools, colleges and universities of Texas.
