Alcalay, Isaac A. (Isaac Abraham)
Rabbi Dr. Isaac Abraham Alcalay (1882-1978) served as the Chief Rabbi of Yugoslavia from 1923-1941 and then of the Central Sephardic Communities in America fom 1943-1968. As Chief Rabbi and as a member of Yugoslavia's government-in-exile, Alcalay also assisted American Sephardim and Sephardic refugees in locating relatives during and following the Holocaust.
