Benjamin Stanton was an attorney, lieutenant governor of Ohio, and a U. S. Representative. He practiced law in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He served as a member of the Ohio Senate in 1841 and 1843. Stanton was elected as a Whig to the U. S. Congress and served from 1851 to 1853. He had a daughter Mary Stanton with wife Nancy Davis Stanton.
