Kridl, Manfred, 1882-1957
Variant namesPolish literary historian. Kridl taught at the universities of Brussels and Wilno (Vilnius) in the 1920s and 1930s. He came to the United States in 1940, and taught at Smith College in 1940-1948. In 1948-1955 he was Adam Mickiewicz Professor of Polish Studies at Columbia University. He was the author or editor of numerous works on Polish literary history.
