Richard P. Condie (1898-1985) was a prominent Mormon composer, School of Music faculty, and a long-time director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Richard Palfreyman Condie was born July 5, 1898, in Springville, Utah, and served as the director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir from 1957 to 1974. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1923, the Boston New England Conservatory in 1928, and attended the Fontainebleau School of Music in France in 1925. On his return to Utah, Condie taught at the McCune School of Music at the University of Utah, achieving professor emeritus status on July 1, 1967. He also taught at Utah State and Brigham Young University. Condie married Blanche Mendenhall in 1923, producing five children, and eventually married Manda Booth in 1963 after Blanche's death. He died in 1985.
