Brian Bond is a Former Deputy Director of the Office of Public Engagement in the Obama White House, serving from 2009-2012. He is a LGBT rights activist who was the first openly gay deputy director in the White House Office of Public Engagement. In 2012, he moved to the Environmental Protection Agency as Associate Administrator for Public Engagement and Environmental Education. He was the Deputy CEO for the 2016 Democratic National Convention, and in 2019, Bond was named executive director of the LGBT advocacy organization PFLAG based in Washington, D.C.
Prior to the White House Bond served as the National Constituency Director for the Obama for America Campaign in Chicago. Prior to that, he served as the Executive Director of the Democratic National Committee’s Gay and Lesbian Leadership Council. He also served several years as the Executive Director of the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, and is a former Executive Director of the Missouri Democratic Party. Bond has a degree in Public Administration from Missouri State University.
