Brian Bond is a former Obama Administration official and LGBTQ advocate with an extensive background in constituency outreach and coalition bridge-building. Brian most recently served as the Coalitions Director for the Climate Action Campaign in Washington D.C., working to protect clean air and promote action to limit climate change. Prior to that, he was the Deputy CEO for the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

During the Obama Administration he served as Deputy Director for the White House Office of Public Engagement and primary liaison for the LGBTQ community, the first to serve in that role. After the successful re-election of President Obama in 2012, he moved to the Environmental Protection Agency to work on the Administration’s climate initiatives as Associate Administrator for Public Engagement and Environmental Education. Prior to these roles, he served as the Executive Director of the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund and is credited with expanding the success of the organization and support for LGBTQ candidates during his six-year tenure, which began in 1997.

Brian is a Missouri native and has a degree in Public Administration from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.

Brian Bond (born October 14, 1961) is an American LGBT rights activist who was the first openly gay deputy director in the White House Office of Public Engagement. He is currently the executive director of PFLAG.

In January 2009, The Advocate magazine announced that Bond would be named deputy director of the White House Office of Public Liaison under Tina Tchen, as confirmed by the transition team of then-President-elect Barack Obama. In this role, he would serve in a managerial capacity for the office as well as serve a primary role on LGBT issues, and was ultimately central to discussions around LGBT issues in the Obama administration, including the administration's response to the Defense of Marriage Act, until his departure in 2011.

Bond left the White House to rejoin the Democratic National Committee as Director of Constituency Outreach in August 2011. He later served as CEO for public engagement at the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

In January 2019, Bond was named executive director of the LGBT advocacy organization PFLAG based in Washington, D.C

Prior to that, he served as the Executive Director of the Democratic National Committee’s Gay and Lesbian Leadership Council. He also served several years as the Executive Director of the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, an organization committed to training and electing Out LGBT candidates for public office. A former Executive Director of the Missouri Democratic Party, Bond is a Missouri native has a degree in Public Administration from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.
