Hughes, T. E. F. (Thomas Eyre Forrest), 1923-
Variant namesPolitician. Hughes worked as a barrister and Queen's Counsel before being elected in 1963 and 1966 as the Liberal Party representative for Parkes (N.S.W.), and in 1969 for Berowra (N.S.W.). From November 1969 to March 1971 he was Attorney-General (i.e. during John Gorton's term as Prime Minister). He retired from politics in 1972 and did not seek re-endorsement for the November 1972 House of Representatives election.
