Bard College
Variant namesJohn Bard founded St. Stephen's College in 1860 as an Episcopal training school on his estate in Annandale-on-Hudson.
It affiliated with Columbia University in 1928, changed its name to Bard College in 1935, and became independent of Columbia and co-educational in 1944.
