Aveling, Edward B., 1849-1898
Variant namesEdward Aveling was an English author, translator, and activist. He contributed articles on scientific themes to journals, and was influenced by the theories of Charles Darwin, eventually writing several books about him. An active Socialist, he helped translate Das Kapital into English and toured America with Eleanor Marx, but conflicts between Aveling and Britain's Socialist Party limited his influence.
