Madeleine Albright, also knowna as Madeleine Jana Korbel Albright (b. May 15, 1937, Prague, Czechoslovakia), American politician and diplomat, is the first woman to serve as the United States Secretary of State, nominated by U.S. President Bill Clinton on December 5, 1996.
