Dr. Milton D. Glick was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on July 30, 1937. He obtained his doctorate degree in chemistry at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and married Peggy Porter in 1965. Dr. Glick joined the chemistry faculty at Wayne State University in Detroit, where he eventually became Chair of the Department of Chemistry and published 99 research articles. He served as dean of the College of Arts and Science at the University of Missouri in Columbia from 1983-88. He then served as provost and interim president at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, before serving for 15 years as executive vice president and provost at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. Dr. Glick was appointed the 15th President of the University of Nevada, Reno, in May 2006 and took office in August 2006. During his 5-year tenure at UNR, Dr. Glick's accomplishments included record-setting enrollments, freshman retention rates, and graduations. He died in Reno on April 16, 2011.
