Variant namesBorn in Westfield, Mass. Served in the French and Indian War and with the Continental Army throughout the Revolutionary War. Member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, 1785-1786; chosen major general of the 4th division of the Massachusetts Militia in 1786.
