Biographical History
Born in Westfield, Mass. Served in the French and Indian War and with the Continental Army throughout the Revolutionary War. Member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, 1785-1786; chosen major general of the 4th division of the Massachusetts Militia in 1786.

Army officer, politician. Shepard was a member of the U. S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts. He served in the French and Indian War and was the representative of the State of Massachusetts at the Treaty of Big Tree in 1797.
