Hunt, Robert, 1807-1887

Robert Hunt was an English physicist and author.

Apprenticed to a surgeon in Paddington, London and studied anatomy with Joshua Brookes (1761-183) F. R. S. 1819. Afterwards with a physician and qas for four years in charage of a dispensary in London. Later with a firm of chemical manufacturers in London and experimented in Photography. In 1851 he became lecturer on mechnaical science at the Royal School of Mines and in 1853 Professor of experimental physics at Royal School of Mines. F. R. S. 1854. He wrote many papers and scientific articles.
