Hochstetter, Ferdinand von 1829-1884
Variant namesFerdinand von Hochstetter was a Professor of Geology and Mineralogy at the University of Vienna. He was also a curator of the Imperial Museum of Natural History in Vienna. He pioneered geological interest in New Zealand in 1858.
