Purvis, Melvin, 1903-1960
Variant namesLaw enforcement officer employed by the FBI from 1927 until his resignation in 1935; as the Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago FBI Office, he was on the scene in 1934 when John Dillinger was killed; death by suicide, 1960.
