Barbara Ward Jackson (Baroness Jackson of Lodsworth; Columbia University L.H.D., 1954) co-authored the book ONLY ONE EARTH; THE CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF A SMALL PLANET with bacteriologist, René Dubos. The book was commissioned by the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment and was funded principally by Columbia University's Albert Schweitzer Chair. The authors had the assistance of an international committee of corresponding consultants consisting of 152 individuals from 58 countries.
