English economist, author, teacher, and lecturer; b. Barbara Ward and wrote under that name; married Robert Gillman Allen Jackson; made life peeress of House of Lords in 1976 with title Baroness Jackson of Lodsworth; d. 1981. Wrote on economic development, international economic relations, population policy, human ecology, and other subjects.
